Leadership

Elders
The elders of the church are undershepherds and therein devote themselves to shepherding the flock like Christ. We desire to know, feed, lead, and protect every sheep of the flock entrusted to our care.

Jon Hardesty
In the fall of 2024 Jon moved to Dayton to be our lead pastor. He enjoys preaching regularly and leading our Wednesday night Bible study. Jon also has a particular heart for personal discipleship and spending time in fellowship with church members. He received his M.Div from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Jon is married to his lovely wife Rachel and they have two boys. Whenever they can they love to get outside together as a family. Jon and Rachel have always enjoyed camping and hope to get the boys out in years to come. When he finds free time, he enjoys working in his shop in the garage, playing board games with friends, and sitting down to good coffee and a book.

Jeremiah Mattingly
Jeremiah has been blessed to be a part of TRCC since 2002, serving as an elder since 2007. He serves through teaching adult Bible classes, and by leading one of our fellowship groups. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Wright State University, and pursued pastoral training through Southern Baptist Theological Seminary & Reformed Baptist Seminary. He currently works as a program manager.
Jeremiah loves spending time with his lovely wife, Jenny, and their four children. In his free time, he enjoys riding bikes with family, running, and reading church history.

Steve English
Steve has been a part of TRCC for over 10 years and has been grateful for the opportunity to serve as an elder since 2023. He has further enjoyed leading a robustly convivial fellowship group and several adult Bible classes.
An engineer by training, Steve approaches theology and worship in a thoughtful and logical way. He hopes to help those who have struggled with making a heart-felt connection with the Lord, like himself, overcome that obstacle. Learning to love God has been the most rewarding part of his walk with Christ.
Steve finds ineffable joy in sharing time with his wife of nearly 30 years, Kirstin, his three children, one son-in-law, and one grandchild (so far!). His free time, meager as it is valuable, is spent enjoying long walks and quiet evenings.
